I just read the beautiful post of Randy Alcorn on Blueprint of Life, and honestly? I was really, really impressed.

It’s all I’m hearing lately, everyone emphasizing one’s lack of faith or perseverence in prayer if/when God doesn’t offer physical healing to the uncurable illnessed. I was just so thrilled to discover the treasure of heavenly blessings we are to live in, promised as they already are (Ephes.1.3)

Being a Christian, praying and learning how to pray constantly, eagerly hearing advices, here and there, how to do it better, why some of my prayers went unanswered, or having received an undesired or not so pleasant answer. Having the hard task to deliver bad news almost each day, it’s so hard to keep believing in God’s miracles, or even expecting Him to do a miracle, since all I see, day by day, is His sovereign decision NOT to heal, NOT to raise up the dead, NOT to perform any remarcable, outstanding physical healing. Aren’t we asking for it? Oh, we do! Aren’t we faithful enough? Is any of you all quite faithful enough to dare request… I don’t know, anything?
And still, there are some far more important things than physical wellbeing. My spiritual one, my soul’s wellbeing – and sometimes I cannot make a difference. It’s just everything else except the physical.
And then again, why should the physicial be more important then the “everything else”, since everything that’s physical is of this world, and will be left behind after death, or completely transformed to something else, outside this decaying world?
I choose today to focuse more on the “everything else”, starting with now. And let God be God, and nothing less.
And my thanks-giving will not be measured by the measure of physical health I have right now! Because this body and everything I owe and administer in this world will remain here – but my heavenly treasure is all that really matters to me. Today. And Ever.
...I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God based on faith. My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
